AssistNet is a one-person business run by Jo Summers, who lives in Melbourne (Victoria, Australia) with her husband Kevin Summers, an actor & writer (pictured right with their dog Lottie, who died peacefully in June 2007).
Prior to forming AssistNet in late 1998, I taught in secondary schools (1983 - 1994) & then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Management & Library Studies at RMIT (1995 - 1996). From 1997 - 1998 I worked for VICNET, initially on the Help Desk & then as their Training Coordinator, before deciding to work on a freelance basis for various skills.net community groups. My current work involves training members & staff of Bayside Libraries (Brighton, Victoria) how to use Windows, applications such as Word, the Web, & email more effectively. |
